Bangladesh: The Land of Rivers

Bangladesh, officially the People's Republic of Bangladesh, is a country in South Asia; and is bordered by India to its west, north and east; Burma to its southeast and separated from Nepal and Bhutan by the Chicken’s Neck corridor. To its south, it faces the Bay of Bengal. Bangladesh is the world's eighth-most populous country, with over 160 million people, and among the most densely populated countries. It forms part of the ethno-linguistic region of Bengal, along with the neighbouring Indian states of West Bengal and Tripura.The Capital and largest city is Dhaka.The Currency is Taka (৳) (BDT).

1. The highest peak in Bangladesh is Saka Haphong in the southeastern Mowdok Range at just 1,052 m (3,451 ft).

2. Bangladesh has a population of 163 million people (163,654,860) as of July 2013 making it the world's eighth most populated country.

3. In 1947, a Bengal area was divided off from India and became the eastern area of the new country called Pakistan, the western part of which was on the other side of India. East Pakistan rebelled with a Civil war in 1971, and gained independence from the West (Pakistan) to become the country of Bangladesh.

4. The national animal of Bangladesh is the endangered Royal Bengal Tiger and The Magpie Robin (or Doyel or Doel) is the national bird of Bangladesh.


5. 1998 saw floods which devastated two-thirds of the country.

6. Apart from cyclones, Bangladesh regularly suffers from extensive flooding caused by monsoon rains and melting snows from the Himalayas.

7. This interesting fact about Bangladesh is quite astonishing: The farmers of the land compose 95% of the population of Bangladesh.

8. Bangladesh’s oldest known city site is the city of Mahasthangarh.

9. The hilly region of north east Bangladesh, Sylhet has many monuments that are similar to those found in Europe.

10. Bangladesh has a whooping figure of 2000 periodicals and daily newspapers published, despite the low literacy rate and the constant average readership at 15%.

Myanmar or Burma: The Emerald of Asia

Burma, officially the Republic of the Union of Myanmar, commonly shortened to Myanmar is a sovereign state in Southeast Asia bordered by Bangladesh, India, China, Laos and Thailand. One-third of Burma's total perimeter of 1,930 km (1,200 miles) forms an uninterrupted coastline along the Bay of Bengal and the Andaman Sea. Burma has a population of 51 million people.[10] Burma is 676,578 square kilometres (261,227 sq mi) in size. Burma's capital city is Naypyidaw and its largest city is Yangon.The currency is Kyat (K) (MMK).

1. In Myanmar, people do not use the metric system of measures. Only 3 countries in the world have not adopted it – Myanmar, the United States and Liberia.

2. In Myanmar, tea is incredibly popular. Citizens of Myanmar adore to drink tea with milk and sugar.

3. Myanmar residents are eating tea leaves pickled with garlic and salt, this dish called – Laphet thote.

4. The Irrawaddy River in Myanmar is believed to be a symbol of ‘continuity’.

5. More than 20,000 people were killed and thousands were left homeless, in the May 2008 Nargis Typhoon, which destroyed villages and rice fields

6. The lowest point in Myanmar is the Andaman Sea (0 m) and the highest point is Hkakabo Razi (5,881 m).


7. Under British rule, Myanmar was the richest country in south-east Asia.

8. Burma has one of the tightest internet censorship policies in the world. Internet use is taken very seriously and bloggers have been jailed for posting photos without permission.

9. Very small children wear holy thread around their neck or wrist for protection from bad spirits and spells.

10. New Year is on April 16th. It's a 3 day festival where you clean your house, make traditional foods, and give gifts.

China: Most Populated Country On Earth

One of the most interesting country in the world. You should read each facts and visit sites that I have mentioned below. China is really very interesting country.

China, officially the People's Republic of China (PRC), is a sovereign state located in East Asia. It is the world's most populous country, with a population of over 1.35 billion. The PRC is a single-party state governed by the Communist Party, with its seat of government in the capital city of Beijing. It exercises jurisdiction over 22 provinces, five autonomous regions, four direct-controlled municipalities (Beijing, Tianjin, Shanghai and Chongqing), and two mostly self-governing special administrative regions (Hong Kong and Macau). The capital is Beijing and Largest city is Shanghai. The Currency is Renminbi (yuan) (¥) (CNY).
